Flat lay
Every piece, perfectly square to the lens.
A flat lay only works if the camera is dead level and the piece is perfectly square to it. We rig directly overhead rather than guessing an angle by eye, so every shot in a set lines up the same way.
Styling is where the real work happens. A garment is folded, smoothed, pinned and re-pinned until it reads as the product rather than as fabric on a table, which can mean a dozen small adjustments before a single frame is kept.
The setup is documented like any other shoot, so a flat lay shot in March sits on the same grid as one shot in October, without a reshoot to match it.
How a day runs
What we need, and what you get
Before the shoot
- Your spec sheet, or ours if you do not have one yet
- The range, with a rough shot count per piece
- Samples steamed and ready to style flat
- Any reference imagery you want the set to match
After the shoot
- Retouched files cut to your spec sheet
- Consistent colour checked against the physical samples
- Backgrounds and shadows cleaned up in retouching
- The lighting setup documented, so the next drop matches this one
